I'm honestly not sure how I'm feeling about this one. On the one hand, it's historical, which isn't my typical genre. On the other, I'm excited by the idea of an own voices novel written on diverse topics, and to have the opportunity to read about a world different than my own. Also, the first look made me fall in love with the voice. The cover is gorgeous, and I'm totally intrigued. This one may be worth giving a shot, although I suspect the historical nature and general length may dampen my excitement. (That's purely personal taste, of course; nothing about this book sounds like it will be inherently bad.)
