Couldn't read it fast enough
I don't often go for historical fiction or palace intrigue, but I couldn't read this story fast enough. I loved the magical realism; it reminded me a little of Shepherd's Book of M.
I could see this as being a great novel to share with my students too. It offers them a new world viewpoint and could open a lot of avenues for discussion. I guess that's going to make it a winner with book clubs too. Not to mention it would look beautiful on my shelf.
