The Bird Kind by G. Willow Wilson emerges as a fantastical take with all too real themes of freedom, inclusion, and fear of the unknown. Though set against a historical framework, the reader will be able to draw parallels to the current day landscape. The beautiful cover and premise of the novel drew me right in.
