I loved 'The Belles'; couldn't-put-it-down, had-to-read-it-in-one-sitting, my-loved-ones-had-to-make-me-come-eat loved it. Ms. Clayton knows how to write a story that lives and breathes and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I found myself, mostly, emotionally invested in all of the principal characters and the main tertiary characters as well. I saw a couple of the 'twists' coming, or at least suspected they were going to go in the direction that they did, but the overall effect still worked. Not going to spoil it here though. Thankfully, the book is also LGBT-friendly and feminist.

When I was done, I passed the book on to my friend's teenage daughter and she loved it! We are both looking forward to the next book in the series.
