This was quite the fun read! Imagine being born into a world where people are dull and colorless. Pale white skin, red eyes, hair like straw. The shining ray of hope in this dismal world comes from the belles. Magically gifted girls who are able to use their power to create beauty and keep people from looking like their true dismal selves.
Our main character is one such belle, Camellia. This book was about her being introduced into society as a belle and figuring out where she belongs and what the truth is about the world around her.
This was a fun read. It was neat to see Camellia figuring out her new life and trying to figure out what was going on in the royal castle when she eventually ended up there.
