I have so much to say about this book! To begin with the imagery and descriptions are detailed and vivid; I can picture everything the author describes. I can see the scenes in my head playing like a movie (and it would make a GREAT movie! Think Marie Antoinette only better!) It is such a rich, complex world that she creates with fully mythology and history for her characters and her setting. On top of all of the wonderful writing is an important and dark message about beauty standards in our world, not just now but throughout history, and the lengths that people have gone to to make themselves “beautiful.”

I could read this book over and over. I’m so thrilled that it’s part of a series and I’m counting the days until the next installment is released!
