This is a beautifully written and important book for young women to read. Clayton has flawlessly created an entire world where beauty, and therefore extensive beauty modification, is of the utmost importance. She highlights issues that are very real for all women, and I admire her tackling such enormous issues in such an elegant way. I was very impressed with the hierarchy of Orléans and how Clayton structured the novel’s action to help readers understand the different realms of royalty - and a frightening villain - Belles, attendants and Gris. I’m both impressed and frustrated with the ending - I wanted more! I will definitely be along for the next adventure with Camellia and the rest of the Belles.
