I received a free copy of The Belles so that I would be able to write a review. I absolutely loved this book! Many YA books nowadays treat young readers as though all they want to read is drama or things they see around them. This book is so beautifully written because it took me to an amazing world through it’s words. The imagery it portrayed made me feel as though I could touch and smell the flowers and make up and dresses right in front of me. The characters were so well written that I couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to know what happened next as though I was right there in their world with them. I’m a 36 year old mother of a 15 year old boy and this book sucked me in and made me feel like I was a young teen again. I actually loved it so much that I passed it on to a friend of my son’s. She stated she loved how the book brought the worlds to life and it made what she was learning in her language arts class about figurative language make sense. She used this book as an example for project because it had so many great examples. The characters are strong women and I loved that aspect. I’m so happy that Disney FREEFORM has an amazing author like this writing great Sci-Fi Fantasy that shows strong women characters. I highly recommend this book. Not my usual genre in many ways but I’m so glad I had the honor to read this one. Thanks so much.
