The Belles is a young adult fantasy book. It is a bewitching, thought provoking read that leaves you wanting more. With captivating characters and imaginative world building The Belles explores the dark sides of beauty. Brimming with lush descriptions of the Kingdom of Orleans it can definitely overwhelm but it also immerses you more into the magical world. I loved how the darker elements gradually seeped into the story as you kept reading and as the character learned more about Belles and the palace. It was a good juxtaposition from the beginning. Can't wait to read more about Camellia's journey and the Kingdom of Orleans.
