This was a highly anticipated book for me and it did not disappoint! It was one of my top books to read in 2018! The story itself was intriguing. The idea that beauty was the law of the land and those who have possession of it can rule it all was fascinating. I really enjoyed the development of the characters, how details were rolled out to the reader as the story continued on. This plot method felt comfortable for the reader and encouraged the reader to become invested in the lives of the characters. The pacing of the story was well done. It did not feel rushed or too slowly paced. Again, this good pacing helped to keep the reader engaged in the story. The world building (setting development) was executed nicely and gave the reader a good sense of the world the Belles live in. I enjoyed making comparisons to how beauty is so desired and cherished in this fictional world and our real one. Overall, this was a very enjoyable reading experience!
