The premise of this book seems so interesting. Embedding the real history of New Orleans into such an opulent story will make a great read that will force the reader to examine their perspective on how women and especially women of color, are viewed in society. The cover helps to draw you in with the beautiful woman and lets you know that you should expect a rich story. I'm excited to read more because the author has already painted such a vibrant story in the first few chapters.
