This first look reminds me of a few different YA series, the main being the people that live in the Capitol in the Hunger Games books, with their ecstatic beauty features that they change. There were also parts that reminded me of The Selection and The Lunar Chronicles (one of my favorites).
Reading the first look, I wasn't sure about the premise being all about beauty, but after reading the summary, it sounds like there will be more to it. I enjoy that there were descriptions already of women of all colors, shapes and sizes. I see that the author is an advocate for more diversity in books, which that alone earned a star from me.
The world building was a little weak, but it's only been two chapters, so there's still time for it to improve. I may eventually pick this up.
