There isn't a lot of information to go on in the first look. It's very short, and the reader isn't quite sure what is supposed to happen to this character. Based on the description, she most likely becomes the favorite she wants to be, so it's not a super surprise there. I'm not a huge fan of the first person narrative, but it seems to be done mostly well so far. The scene feels dreamy, which is probably the vibe the author was going for. I liked the cover and would be interested in reading more.
