I'm honestly not sure what to think. This book has a cover that draws to mind The Selection books by Kiera Cass (a good thing, to me), and a premise that seems to combine a similar trope to those books with an almost Hunger Games type feel to it. All of these things should add up to something I find completely irresistible.

I think it's the focus on beauty where I get lost. It means nothing to me. I can't relate to it. I'm not into fashion or glamour or beauty beyond the basics. So I'm not sure I'm interested in where the book goes from here. I'm not sure I could commit to a story line where beauty ranks above all else. I'm also not sure I'd have patience for the cattiness and mean girls type shenanigans that I suspect are to follow.

In the end, while I'm definitely intrigued, I'm not sure that this is a book I'd take a chance on.
