The synopsis makes this story sound absolutely amazing. The plot sounds like it will have a lot of interesting turns and be filled with excellent characters. The writing in the first look lives up to this. It is elegant and colorful and descriptive. The only problem I have is that I immediately started thinking of Kiera Cass' series, which I wasn't too fond of. As far as the cover, I would have expected the person on the cover to be smiling, based on how this world is described.
