The beautiful descriptions of this world are so vivid that I can visualize the procession of the Belles. It is a visual feast of colors and whimsical flourishes. The writing does an incredible job of painting a picture for the reader. However, there is a darkness to the celebration and I am very interested in learning more about this world and the magic system and how the Gris and the Belles came to be the way that they are. I'm intrigued! I really love seeing a gorgeous girl of color on the cover. I support diverse books and heroines of all shapes and shades!
