From the cover of The Belles, you would expect a light, romantic young adult about princesses and princes, with happily-ever-afters galore. Same old, same old. From the excerpt alone, I can easily tell that I was mistaken. The Belles has an incredibly unique concept, and the book seems to be surprisingly dark under all the beauty. The main character seems complex, and I'm interested to find out where her story goes from here.
