I have never read a story that takes place in San Francisco in the 50's, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to read The Bell in the Fog. This is a MM investigative thriller that was made even more exciting by the setting and time it occurs. This would fall under the category of historical mystery if I had to lump it into one category. I enjoyed James and Andy's chemistry, as well as the conflict between them. The characters were well-developed and the mystery added depth to the story. As a Navy Veteran myself, it was interesting to see the military angle of the book, as well as the graphic honesty of how the military historically has unfortunately treated people who were different than 'the norm.' Overall, it was and engaging and interesting story and I found myself finishing it in two sittings. Looking forward to reading additional stories by Lev A.C. Rosen.
