I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. It’s definitely unlike anything else I’ve read before. A gay private investigator working and living above a gay club. Andy is former navy, he left because he was scared of being found out. The book takes place in 1952, when being gay was thought of as being one of the worst things you could be. I really loved it once I started reading. The 50’s vibe was authentic and fun to dive into. I loved the mystery, blackmail and murder. I never had a clue who was the guilty party, or parties. I never read the first book, which I think would have helped me know a little more of Andy’s past and background. The author did give me enough to not feel like I was really missing out, but reading the first book would probably make things make a lot more sense. I don’t know if there will be a third book, but I would check it out!
