This is a new author for me which I enjoyed reading and look forward to seeing what is next for them. I enjoyed this author's writing skills and their attention to details that made the characters pop. This is a mystery story about a detective that is trying to start a new life as a private detective. His problem is that no one want to hire a ex-cop with a bad reputuation. What will happen when an old flame goes missing? What happens next with story is something you don't want to miss. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world with ease and kept me engaged to the end. They are connectable, relateable, strong characters that add to the story's entertainment value. There is great growth with the plot and the characters throughout the story. This is a fast paced mystery that is hard to put down. An engaging story that kept me turning pages to the end. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
