This was such a good follow up to the first book, The Lavender House. Sometimes sequels disappoint, but this one certainly did not. I find the main character, Andy, and the way that the author writes about him super interesting. I loved learning more about Andy’s life in this second book. The plot was compulsively readable as well—I finished this book in just a few short days! This one followed a new case, where nude photos were being used to blackmail gay men and women. It also brought up a lot more background on Andy, which I appreciated, introducing us to a few characters from his past and tying them into the mystery of the blackmail case. The case had a solid conclusion as well—not simple enough that it was obvious the whole time, but not overly convoluted either. I hope that the author chooses to write more books in this series, and if he does I know that I’ll be at the top of the waitlist.
