I usually think the sequels aren't as good because the expectations are too high. I found Andy Mills #2 better than Andy Mills #1 Lavender House, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I'm actually waiting for Part #3! This has become really interesting after #2. It is set in the 50s in San Francisco. Detective Evander “Andy” Mills is a struggling with his new private detective firm. He has a lot of bills to pay and not many people trust him enough to hire him as a private detective yet. Finally, an old friend James comes to his office. James is being blackmailed, and he wants Any to help him find certain scandalous pictures. Andy is set to doing the right thing, but he gets dragged deeper into something dangerous. Can he find what James wants before his past catches up to him? I would suggest reading Lavender House first so that this one is even more fun!
