This book will not be for everyone. It is about the gay community/lifestyle many years ago. There is historical information about gays in the military and how they were treated and how they lived basically two lives. All the characters in the book were interesting and you felt as though you could connect with what they were going through. The historical references to gays in the military at that time was the most thought provoking parts of the book. Makes you want to do a little more research about those times. The main character is one you will want to hear about again. This is the second book with this character. I plan to find a copy of that book and see what lead him to the point where he is in this book. The author seems to have some other books that might give more insight into him. All in all--this had a great mystery and I did not figure it all out.
