I believe this is set in the 1950’s. Our lead character is a gay private investigator. He works above a gay club. One day, his ex walked into his office needing his help. He and his ex met in the Navy and broke up after the war when his ex went back into the closet. And now his ex is being blackmailed by someone who has pictures of him with a man and is trying to get money from him.
I thought this excerpt was interesting and a nice length. It made you wonder what would happen next. I like the lead character too.
