Based off the cover, I was unsure if I would like this book and reading the shorter description, I was still unsure as it was set in the 50's and I tend to enjoy reading novels set in more current years. However, after reading the first look, all the doubts I had about this novel were erased. A large majority of the books I read include LGBTQ+ themes, but are all current, which makes this novel much different. I believe it will be interesting and perspective-broadening to read a novel about a lesser-accepting time period. I look forward to reading about secret love affairs, the struggles of being queer in the 50's, and of course, the mystery & thrills that come along with it.
