I'm not a huge historical fiction fan, but this was off to an interesting start. A gay private eye in the '50's is being asked to help his ex-lover, who is being blackmailed. His work space is above a gay bar called Ruby and already there are so many great characters. There are so many ways this story could go! It's super open and there are many possibilities to find out what's happening.
