I'm hooked by this story already! I can already feel Andy and Gene's chemistry and love that hints of his relationship with James was introduced early on, I can already tell there'll be more to the story there. I also appreciate the historical context - particularly as a San Francisco native, it's interesting to see the city in such a different time/light.
I feel a bit neutral about the cover, although I do feel like it represents the mystery/detective element of the story well, I don't love the shadow outline of a man's face. I think even a full-figured shadow would look a bit better in my opinion!
