I enjoyed The Beautiful. 19th century New Orleans with vampires and a bit of a murder mystery, what else could you ask for?
The setting was incredible and vivid. Celine is a badass, no nonsense strong female character that should be experienced by everyone. The murder mystery is intriguing, I never would have guessed the person behind the murders. I was shocked when they were revealed. The vampire lore that Renée uses is unique and had you asking to know more. This book went by so quickly and had me immediately requesting the sequel from my library. And that ending! I need book two ASAP!
