I do not understand why this book has a lower rating on some sites. It was one of my favorite books of 2019. Celine and Sebastien are my new favorite characters, and I cannot wait till the second book comes out.
Celine is running from something in Paris where she has grown up, and is basically hiding in New Orleans. She's supposed to be a nice quiet girl helping out the nuns, but that seems to be the last thing Celine is capable of. She meets Sebastien, and the rest of the court of lions, and everything that happens after is wonderful and scary and I'm so glad vampires are back! Renee Ahdieh did an amazing job of weaving this beautiful story together, I felt transported to 1872.
