The premise of the book seems interesting. The girls in the convent I think will add color to the story line. Celina is definitely my kind of female main character. She has quick snide remarks and an itch for something more, an adventure into the unknown. Most definitely interested in her reason for leaving home and what her genetics have to do with her future.
The male main character does seem awkward and "grey", the sampler not giving much detail about who and the why of his existence. We can deduce that he is a creature of the night and he has been killing people for some kind of attention.
The lure of New Orleans makes me excited to read about the parties and carnival the characters will attend!
