Interesting Story, but Slow

I enjoyed listening to this as an audiobook, but I'm not sure it would've held my interest as a physical copy. The story felt slow moving and at times I wished more would be revealed so that I had some sense of what was going on. The elements of a good story were there, but I didn't ever get answers to what was going on which made it difficult to keep going.

It was ultimately an enjoyable story, the premise of vampires in New Orleans was enticing, but the book didn't really deliver on the promises of it's blurb. There are so many aspects of this could've been resolved with a tiny bit of humility and some good solid communication. It felt like it leaned more on it's haunting vampire vibes than it did on actual plot, character development and world building. If you're a die hard vampire lover, give it a read, but it wasn't for me and I will not be continuing the series.
