I love vampire stories! That is one of the ways to get me to insta-buy your book. I will try them all - even the ones that don't live up to all that vampire stories can be. As soon as I read the description of this book, I knew it would be one that I would absolutely be reading.
As I started reading it, I was disheartened. It was slow to pick up. Fortunately, I had read other books by Renée Ahdieh, so I knew that this was the way her books tend to go. So, if I can give any advice for this book, it would be give it a little extra time to pull you in. If you can give it the time, the pay off will be more than worth it!
The slow build of the beginning gave way to an amazing story. I didn't realize it was the beginning of a series, but now that I've finished it, I am so glad that it is! The biggest downside is that I have to wait for the next one to come out. Do yourself a favor this Halloween, and read this book!
