The Beautiful. This book showcases the dark and creepy side of the Crescent City and I loved it. I know a lot of people were disappointed in the lack of vampire content but the implication of them was perfect to me. I also LOVED the otherworldly characters. I want to be part of the group. What power can I have😭The story really plays a fine line between sensual and scary. What really goes bump in the night? This book keeps it a mystery while allowing you to have all sorts of assumptions. It follows two characters, one who has been in this world from the very beginning and another who is running from her past and runs right into the "other" world. Filled with creatures of all sorts and all levels of evil. I adored both main characters but Celine's intrigue had me rooting for her the entire time. Her desire to go into the unknown, to find the evil head first.
