The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh was very engaging. It was a new take on the young adult vampire story we have been needing. This is my first read by Renée Ahdieh and it definitely left me wanting more. Celine and Bastien were utterly captivating characters. Celine left me wanting to go on a dangerous adventure. If you loved Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows , be ready to fall in love with Sebastian St. Germain. An element of the story I was happily surprised by was the fun addition and attention to detail of the fashion from that time. The dresses where absolutely gorgeous in my minds eye. I also loved being introduced to the language of the 1800s , it was a breath of fresh air. I heard this was to be the first book in a series and I’m absolutely DYING for the next.
