This first impression did a wonderful job at creating a story full of mystery. This little snippet left me wanting to know more about Celine, her background, and the world she is about to find herself in. I absolutely love that this book is set in New Orleans during the late 1800s and can't wait to read more! The jacket is also striking with the detail of the chalice and the red against the black background.
