I'm not a huge vampire novel fan, but if there ever was a perfect setting for vampires, it's 1870s New Orleans, with French and English immigrants. The cover of this novel is, well, beautiful - and as much as I liked the premise, the choppy writing didn't seem to match. It's a personal preference, but the writing style was a big turnoff for me.
