This sounds amazing just from the description. We have vampires, romance, and then bam! A murder mystery. All set in the Big Easy, a city of much mystique and intrigue. The writing is also capturing, while remaining easy enough with a great flow. Complicated writing can be great and wonderful prose. But, the plot can get lost in the overly abundant wordiness. The writing is promising enough that there's imagery painted, and enrapturing to the reader, but not overly fluffy, for lack of better words.
