The cover made me hesitate. It looked like it was emulating Twilight a bit too much, with the red on black. But I've been a fan of Ahdieh for a while, and I am always excited for her writing, and this didn't disappoint. The prose and worldbuilding drew me in, and the mysterious first person narrator we get glimpses of have me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read the whole book.
