Right from the start, I really enjoyed the New Orleans setting. There's something about that city during this time period that lends itself so well to this sort of story. I really like Celine as a character so far. She seems very independent with a mind of her own, and I'm really interested to learn more about her backstory and the events that led her to America. I'm also looking forward to finding out more about whoever the shadowy figure is stalking his prey in the night. All in all, I'm hooked and can't wait for more.
