It's been a while since vampires popped up in YA--and I'm excited to see a fresh new take with a historical rather than modern bent--Ahdieh's descriptions of New Orleans are atmospheric and the main character Celine's backstory is intriguing. And from what I've read of the main vampire character, he seems more like the old school vampires of Anne Rice--it'll be interesting to see how Ahdieh spins a romance out of this.
