A little overwrought for me

I've enjoyed all of Ahdieh's previous books, but this one seems to take her lyrical prose to a level that seems a little too overwrought for me. Very flowery to the point where it distracted from the story for me. The Irish girl's brogue also disappeared and reappeared from sentence to sentence, which made her characterization seem disjointed. I've read some reviews of the full book that expressed disappointment with how the main character has serious self-deprecation toward her past actions, which lessen my interest in picking up the full book.
