This book is very far from my usual genres. But the cover caught my attention (I am a sucker for red dresses). Then I read the story and oh my, I had to keep fanning myself. Because this book gets steamy!
Lady Astrid Everleigh's reputation was ruined a decade before by the horrid Earl of Beaumont. One lie, and her first and final season came to a quick end. The story is pretty straightforward. No unexpected twists and turns. But the characters really make the story. Astrid is a modern-day woman. She is educated and very quick-witted. Her sister is the most important person in her life and she does everything to protect her. Beswick grows on you. He's not perfect but he's a decent person. He does growl a lot though. Ha!
Looking forward to reading more regency novels. Especially if they're anything like this one!
