A delightful tale of two people most unlikely to find each other, no less love in the end of the Regency era. For Lady Astrid, it was necessary to seek out the Duke of Beswick and beg him to marry her. Known as the Beast of Beswick, Thane, was intrigued by Astrid especially as she did not seem repulsed by his appearance. In true Regency fashion, Amalie has written a story for all time, a story of Beauty and the Beast meets Taming of the Screw.
Reading this book, I was reminded of my younger days when I fell in love with romance by reading Barbara Cartland, drawn into a world of times past. Ms. Howard has written a story for all ages and inserted a modern tale that would have made a lady blush in days gone by. Certainly one for today’s reader who longs for tales of dukes and their beloved duchess.
