What is up with this genre? I know it is a staple to the romance scene to have the possibly semi abusive relationship with the brooding alpha but come on, it is getting tiresome. I would love to see a book with the beginning premise like this one only for the female protagonist to say 'you know what, if you treat your servants etc like this then you'll probably do that to me so I'm gonna bounce and go with the good guy back in the village. '
