How many Beauty and the Beast retellings are there? Probably too many, and unfortunately this one doesn't feel like anything new. I don't particularly enjoy the trope where girl changes boy/girl has poor impression of boy and turns out to be wrong, and this seems like a very basic version of that. I do think the writing is decent and stays within the period it's based in. The cover is basic and traditional, identical to many similar novels.
