I had been looking forward to reading this book because the synopsis was intriguing. Unfortunately, the book was not. I found myself shaking my head and rolling my eyes at most of the characters interactions and the writing. A lot of the book was unnecessary which made it drag in the worst way. I usually finish a book in a day but this one took me four. I found myself breathing a sigh of relief once I was finally done. The plot is good and it could’ve been a great read if the writing hadn’t been so comical and rambling.
Jamie has returned to her childhood home after her mother died. She’s now responsible for her sister, Emma, who was attacked twenty years ago while babysitting and has never fully recovered. Jamie begins searching for answers and then there’s an attempted attack on another babysitter.
I don’t often give below three stars to the books I read but this one only gets two stars from me.
