Ok, I think so many of us can relate to fears while babysitting as teenagers that someone was going to ax murder you! This book does a great job of playing into those old fears in just the first few chapters. Jamie convinces her sister Emma to take over her babysitting job one night so she can sneak off to a high school party and things go horribly wrong when Emma is attacked and is left with long term brain injury from the attack. Grown up Emma still lives with her mother, and when mom passes, Jamie must come home to care for Emma and within days Emma reveals to Jamie her attacker, someone Jamie used to have a crush on. Good pacing, identifiable characters. If I wasn't already scared, I might keep reading!
