I can clearly imagine teenagers conspiring to switch babysitting job times so one can go to a party to see the boy she has a crush on. When Jamie convinced her sister to babysit in her place, she never imagined that her sister would be assaulted. Of course, this one act has affected her entire family. The fact that the crime was never solved further compounded issues.
The characters are very believable. Jamie's daughter acts exactly like a 15-year-old. I love that the author has the characters acting the appropriate age. I also enjoy Emma's character. I can see that she might be difficult to manage for those without patience.
