Honestly this genre is just not one that interests me. This also feels very similar to the movie Halloween, and I can't really tell if that is intentional or not. Emma feels like a tool in the story who will only be used for vague statements intended to add atmosphere. I'm not sympathetic to Jamie, and can't see myself getting through this whole book when even the sample was a struggle.
