I want to like this; I love stories of family and human resilience. However, this is written in present tense and I really struggle with that writing style. I am sure this is not an issue for some readers, in which case I sincerely hope they enjoy this story. I'm afraid I'll have to take a pass, though. The cover is gorgeous.
